Position Summary

The DevOps Specialist reports to the Senior Director of Systems Infrastructure and Operations, and is responsible for the production and ongoing maintenance of web based technologies. As such this position manages cloud infrastructure and system administration as it relates to these products and works with teams to identify and repair issues on an as-needed basis.  Likewise this position will assist in identifying and justifying new technology directions as it relates to web technologies. Additionally, as a member of the Systems Operations Team the DevOps Specialist will participate in our on call rotation and other system oriented initiatives.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Integrate infrastructure builds with application deployment processes

  • Analyze, design and evaluate automation scripts and systems

  • Research new technologies that will improve efficiency and effectiveness

  • Manage security tools and services for authentication, authorization, attack prevention and other security services. 

  • Implements and maintains DevOps tools and technologies (source control, continuous integration, deployment automation, and orchestration) 

  • Implement highly scalable applications

  • Assess current state technology and IT delivery procedures 

  • Develop the plan for infrastructure/application deployment to successfully execute end-to-end testing of the System Architecture 

  • Coordinate with IT owners of existing systems to gain alignment with infrastructure roadmap 

  • Implement technical improvements to improve efficiency and repeatable SDLC process from Dev to production 

  • Define the approach for executing end-to-end automated regression for the initial and subsequent DDI phases of programs

  • Transform the functional work experience between the development and operations teams by breaking down silos and unifying the delivery process

Minimum Qualifications

  • Experience automating the delivery pipeline from development to production environments, including the use of continuous integration

  • 2-4 Years working on IT solutions based on Service Oriented Architecture (SOA)

  • Experience building IT solutions that adhere to multiple industry standards, compliance and regulatory requirements, and/or technology standards- 

  • 2-4 Years experience and a broad understanding of DevOps tools and technologies (source control, continuous integration, deployment automation, and orchestration)

  • Experience working within a project governance structure (methodology, required templates and reporting)

  • Experience with application security principles and mitigation techniques 

  • Experience with infrastructure automation tools - including Cloud technologies

  • 1-3 Years Demonstrated experience working with business and technical users to gather and document technical requirements

  • 1-3 Years Demonstrate Experience delivering in an agile/iterative delivery environment

  • Demonstrated experience with managing client expectations and implementing change management initiatives

  • Technical Bachelor’s degree (Computer Engineering, Computer Science)

Knowledge and Skills Required

  • Expert understanding of application security principles and mitigation techniques 

  • Experience with infrastructure automation tools - including Cloud technologies 

  • In-depth experience with the development life-cycle and software development methodologies 

  • Experience delivering in an agile/iterative delivery environment 

  • Ability to break down complex tasks into actionable work items 

  • Ability to work independently and communicate effectively
