Yes Energy is seeking an early career Data Quality Analyst to join our Boulder based Data Operations Team. The ideal candidate will have some experience working with data and an eagerness to develop their skills in many areas.
As a Data Quality Analyst at Yes Energy you will apply your analytical skills to a variety of Data Quality, Market Research and software testing duties to support our efforts in Nodal Power Markets. This position offers candidates an opportunity to develop greater knowledge of energy markets, cloud-based software products, SAAS business, while applying and developing technical, research and customer-facing skills with one of the most creative and hard-working staff in the industry.
Market Research – research what is happening in the markets and why our users care
Data Quality Assurance – ensure that our datasets are complete, correct and timely
Product Testing – verify that new product enhancements work as they should
Event Research – research the key drivers of noteworthy pricing events
Infrastructure Research – ensure the quality/completeness of our transmission grid data
Customer Support - helping our clients make the very best use of our products and data
B.S. or B.A.. (Economics, Geography, Computer Science, Math, and Engineering are preferred.)
Quick study, self-motivated
Strong attention to detail
Advanced spreadsheet skills (charting, formulas, pivot tables, macros, etc)
Programming experience - SQL and PLSQL (preferred); GIS, MatLab, etc
Strong knowledge of energy markets or a desire to learn
Interest in developing technical/analytical skills
Experience testing software and/or managing data a plus
Prior Six Sigma or Continuous Improvement experience a plus
Reports to the Manager of Data Operations
Minimal travel may be required (up to 10 days per year)
The position will be located in our Boulder, Colorado office.
