The Senior Systems Administrator is a critical role within the IT Infrastructure and Systems Operations Organization. Reporting to the Senior Director, IT Infrastructure and Systems Operations, the role is responsible for daily administration of a network/server environment. Installs, configures, and maintains system software. Monitors server and network performance, troubleshoots more complex issues and deploys solutions. Plans and manages deployment of virtual private cloud. Plans and implements upgrades, patches, and installation of new applications, security patches, and equipment. Creates and maintains disaster recovery infrastructure. May lead the evaluation of new technologies and perform analysis/feasibility studies to guide decisions on the best way to optimize network efficiency and performance. Networking and/or OS certification highly desired. Works on advanced, complex technical projects or business issues requiring state of the art technical or industry knowledge. Ability to work independently within a greater team vision. Leadership contribution through technical knowledge in the area of specialization.
Serve as the subject matter expert for Yes Energy infrastructure (servers and networking) projects
Support the ongoing maintenance, monitoring, security, replication, disaster recovery, and availability of all systems
Serve as a key member of the on-call Systems support team during non-business hours
Responsible for establishment and application of Yes Energy technical security policy, including user management, threat detection, and critical patching.
Respond to and resolve incident and problem tickets
Document and thoroughly understand the database and system architecture
Work closely with customer support team to communicate the root cause of outages, duration and recommendations or steps to resolve issues
Work with DBA staff to implement a HA/DR strategy for Yes Energy application and database resources
Use Linux based automation technologies and/or scripting techniques as needed to support business initiatives
Implement appropriate levels of system security
Cisco ASA Firewalls and IOS
Oracle (Database OS configuration and monitoring)
Dell/EMC ScaleIO/VxRack Flex
Enterprise backup technologies
AWS, Google cloud
Solarwinds and/or other web based monitoring tools
5+ Years Network Administrator Experience
Exceptional Project Management and communication skills
10 years Linux (preferably Red Hat)
Strong technical knowledge of server, storage, operating systems and network infrastructures are highly desirable.
Strong shell scripting
Knowledge/Experience with IO-optimized storage systems, particularly SSD and NVMe
Cloud experience, particularly with alternate data stores and large-scale data integration
Storage Technology related certifications or implementation experience highly desirable (Dell/EMC)
Experience with VMWare failover and monitoring techniques
Experience with moving/migrating systems and data
Excellent documentation, communication and interpersonal skills
Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
3+ years experience managing enterprise class storage arrays
3+ years experience with storage protocols – SCSI, iSCSI, Fibre Channel, NFS, CiFS, NVMe.
Understanding of replication and snapshot methodologies used in enterprise storage environments
Experience maintaining high availability storage subsystems capacity and configuration
Experience troubleshooting complex incidents and problems associated to storage environments and related applications
Oracle Database administration experience
VmWare, vcenter management
