The wide variety and volume of the market data we provide is core to the value we create. Overseeing the development of automated collection and review of market data, researching market changes, evaluating customer needs and testing to ensure quality are key tasks of an Energy Markets Product Manager. An Energy Markets Product Manager also must understand what the market data means to our customers and why it is important. Our customer first approach implies helping existing customers, teaching prospects the value of your (our) work. Technical puzzles that require an organized, creative advocate will need to be solved. The position is great for someone who understands energy markets (especially ISO power markets) knows how to work with customers, and has demonstrated effective project management.  We would love to hear from energetic, motivated candidates for positions in our Boulder (headquarters), Chicago or Boston offices. 

We need people who can interface with technical staff to manage complicated, technical projects (and even do some or much of the technical legwork).  We also need people who can listen to customers, understand their needs, communicate the value of our products, and own the process of making sure we meet their needs.  The best candidates will be strong in both of these areas.

There isn’t one specific background that is required for success but these traits are most attractive:

  • A completed B.S. or B.A. degree.   (Economics, Geography, Computer Science, Math, and Engineering are common majors but we are open to others.)

  • An M.S. or M.A. in a relevant field is a plus.

  • 4+ years of experience in a technical or support focused position

  • Demonstrated knowledge of nodal power markets

  • Demonstrated project management skills

  • Demonstrated ability to be self-motivated and organized

  • Experience providing customer support for software products

  • Advanced spreadsheet skills

  • Demonstrated programming experience - SQL and PLSQL (preferred); GIS, VBA, MatLab

  • Familiarity with Yes Energy products is a plus

  • Technical sales experience is a plus
